French Riviera: A Double Bay Story Since 1980
For more than four decades, French Riviera has been part of the Double Bay story. Here, we look at the people and memories behind the ice cream.
When French Riviera first opened in Double Bay in 1980, its founder probably had little idea how many local memories would become connected with its name.
Over the years, people have come to French Riviera for an ice cream and, perhaps just as importantly, a moment to enjoy. For some, it may bring back memories of childhood visits. For others, it has become a familiar stop while spending time in Double Bay.
[Owner’s name] remembers the early days. “[Add a short quote about why he started French Riviera and what Double Bay was like at the time.]”
A lot can change over more than 40 years. Shops come and go, families grow up, and neighbourhoods take on a different character. Yet some local businesses remain part of the story, giving people a reason to return and reconnect with familiar places.
French Riviera’s own journey has included [add a little about its history, any moves, and the important milestones the family would like to share].
His daughter, [daughter’s name], has her own perspective on the business and its place in the family. “[Add a memory or reflection from his daughter.]”
And what has kept people coming back? The family might point to [their favourite flavours, approach to making ice cream, customers, or another detail in their own words].
Stories like this remind us that local businesses are more than names above a shopfront. They are part of the fabric of our community, with people, families and memories behind them.
French Riviera’s story began in Double Bay in 1980. We look forward to hearing more about the journey—and perhaps discovering which flavour has been a favourite for the longest!
Do you have a memory of French Riviera? We’d love to hear it.
